I know it's the right thing to do for my long-term health and piece of mind. And if everything looks good, I probably won't need another one for ten years. I just have to remember that I'm not alone.

It says here that during a colonoscopy, the doctor will put a thin flexible tube with a tiny camera on the end into the rectum and up through the colon to look for small growths on the inside of the colon. These growths are called polyps.

So…you gonna get one of those colonoscopies there, or what? I just had one.

You did? So, what the heck was that like?

I gotta admit I felt nervous at first, but it was really pretty easy.

And, what about the actual colonoscopy? What was that like? Did it hurt?

During the colonoscopy itself, they gave me a medicine that made me relax and feel a little sleepy. And then I didn't feel much of anything.

Really?

I asked the doctor when we were going to get started and he said that it was already over.
